The City of Wagga Wagga has produced some of Australia's finest sports men and women. Some of which include Geoff Lawson, Michael Slater, Mark Taylor, Tony Roche, Paul Kelly, Megan Taylor, Steve Elkington, Kate Henderson, Wayne Carey, Peter Sterling, Greg Brentnall and Scobie Breasley.
This includes Test Cricketers, Rugby League and Australian Footballers, Golfers, Sprinters, Hockey players, Karate and even one of the country's best table tennis players.
It will come as no surprise that these people trained at some of the finest sporting facilities in country Australia.

Only recently the City opened one of the best aquatic centres in rural and regional Australia, the Oasis Regional Aquatic Centre.It boasts a superb 50 metre - 10 lane Olympic Pool, diving pool, 25 metre - 10 lane indoor pool, exercise pool and wave pool. The Oasis is a "must see" for all visitors to the City. Other magnificent sporting facilities are:
- Jubilee Park Sports Complex (which hosts Athletics, Hockey, Touch Football and Rugby)
- Robertson Oval (Australian Football and Cricket), the Jim Elphick Tennis Complex, and Lake Albert (Water Skiing, Sailing and Canoeing).
The City also has two fine golf courses as well as an 18 hole par three course, excellent speedway and clay target shooting range.
