“Guiding young people in feeing empowered in making decisions about their future”.

The Mentors 4 Youth team are currently seeking new mentors to become a part of this program in the Wagga and Albury area.

Mentors 4 Youth is a school-based mentoring program for young people who are at risk of disengaging with education.

It is an individualised career planning program that connects trained volunteers with young people once a week over 14 weeks.

Mentors 4 Youth is looking for motivated individuals who are committed to ensuring that every child has an opportunity to make the best choices for their future. 

As a part of the program you will:

Receive free training that includes both online learning and attendance at a 3 hour workshop.

-Participants will learn skills that assist mentors in developing effective mentoring practices that centre on student need. With a focus on supportive relationship building and individualised career planning assistance; Undergo Child Protection training and screening

-All participants will undergo mandatory Child Protection training and screening. Interviews will be conducted that carefully match participants to specific schools and students. 
 
Gain valuable practical experience which will assist you in your future professional and personal relationships

-Participating in mentoring provides an opportunity to develop skills in listening to others and valuing different ways of thinking about the world.

Show a commitment to building strong communities where young people feel proud to belong

-By volunteering an hour a week of your time you are sending a powerful message to young people that as a community we are all responsible for each other.
