In 1969 the Wagga Wagga City Council become proactive in recruiting industry. It set aside sites for industrial development such as:
- Hammond Avenue estate for general industries such as:
- Byrne Trailers
- Murrumbidgee Dairy Products
- Bomen industrial estate for agricultural processing and noxious industries such as:
- Cargills
- Riverina Wool Combing
- Dobney Avenue area for service industries such as:
- Ingrams Automotive Engineering
- Chambers Whyte Design and Print
- ArtAngel Designs
- Maslin Homes
Although most industries are located in the City of Wagga Wagga there are some other small industrial centres. For instance DSM Nutritional Products is located at Gumly Gumly, 10 kilometers from the City centre. DSM Wagga is part of a multinational chain of mills which produce premix products for animal stockfeeds.
