Softball has been played competitively in Wagga Wagga since the mid-sixties, but it wasn’t until 1969 that it became a structured Association.

Since then Wagga Wagga Softball Association has provided softball for players of all ages from “kindergarten” to “golden oldies”.

Wagga Wagga had great success in Junior State Championships in the 80s and regularly through the late 70s and to the current time has produced NSW State players in various age groups and has even produced three Australian Open players in Kim Robinson, Brooke Frauenfelder and Amanda Wheeler.

The softball competition is played in Wagga Wagga from October to Easter (March/April) on Saturdays at French Fields and caters for players of all abilities.

Juniors also play Tee-ball and Blast Ball, which are introductory games to Softball.

The Junior League is played on Saturday mornings and the Senior League from 12 noon.

The game is played extensively by females, although there have been some years when Male competitions were also held.
